• Applicants must be Catholic organizations as recognized by the Catholic hierarchy of Rome. The Koch Foundation receives requests for applications from January 1st to May 1st of the current year for projects to be funded the following year. Funding is provided for one (1) year only. Priority is given to financially-distressed, underdeveloped areas.
  • Eligible applicants must submit a Letter of Request providing a brief description of the project, beginning and ending dates, who will administer the project, the cost, why it is needed, and what the project will accomplish.
  • All requests and supporting documentation must be in English. Requested amounts must be in U.S. ($) currency.
  • Applicants outside of the United States must identify a fiscal agent within the United States. Requests from Catholic organizations outside of the United States must provide a fiscal agent, listed in the United States Official Catholic Directory, who is willing to accept responsibility for the distribution of funds.
  • Once the Letter of Request has been approved an application will be provided. The application must be completed within 90 days of the date of the Foundation’s application cover letter. The project described in the Letter of Request and the application must be identical or the application will be cancelled. All projects must have additional funding sources identified, including the amounts requested and/or received.
  • All applications are reviewed by the Grants Committee and final decisions are made by the Board of Directors at the annual meeting scheduled the last Saturday in February of the following year.
  • Applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision by the end of March.

 

  • JANUARY 1st – Begin accepting Letters of Request.
  • FEBRUARY – Annual Board Meeting to review previous year’s applications.
  • MARCH 3rd – Funding distributed to applications approved in the annual board meeting.
  • MAY 1st – Last Day to submit Letters of Request.
  • JUNE thru NOVEMBER – Internal Grants Processing
